Oilers capture another 2A title

MANHATTAN – Janae Ryan and her Central Plains High School senior teammates celebrated their fourth consecutive Class 2A state basketball championship Saturday.
Ryan sparked an early run with four 3-pointers and the Oilers outlasted the pesky Alma-Wabaunsee Chargers 60-48 in Saturday’s Class 2A state championship. Janae missed all six 3-pointers in Friday’s 2A semifinals.
“I kept a next-day mentality and put it behind me,” Janae Ryan said. “The championship game was the one that mattered. I knew I would shoot better than that. I was ready to play.”
