Registration being taken for boating safety class


The Great Bend Recreation Commission and the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department will host a Boating Safety Course on Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St.

Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1989, must successfully complete a boating safety course in order to operate a motorboat or sailboat. Exemptions from this requirement include persons 21 years of age or older and persons operating a boat under direct, audible supervision of an individual at least 18 years of age who possesses a boating safety certificate or who is exempt ...
