Hoisington Legion splits with Hays Monarchs

HAYS – Hoisington’s Legion baseball team rallied for a 6-3 victory over the Hays Monarchs to gain a split of Friday’s doubleheader. TMP won the opener 7-4.
TMP MONARCHS 7, HOISINGTON 4 — Creighton Renz had three hits to spark the Monarchs. Cole Zimmerman yielded no earned runs.
Hoisington’s Alex Schremmer scored on a wild pitch and Kyle Lang’s sacrifice fly scored Myles Menges in a two-run first inning.
Schremmer’s sacrifice fly scored Kade Urban in the second inning. Hoisington loaded the bases in the seventh inning when Braxton Donovan scored on a double-play groundball.
