Larks’ homer sparks victory

Bat Cats play 2 games Wednesday at home

HAYS — Great Bend Bat Cats pitcher Taylor Langston made one mistake and Hays Lark Michael Gangwish made him pay. Gangwish launched a three-run homer that sparked the Larks’ 5-2 victory over the Bat Cats Tuesday.
Hays (17-7) returns to Great Bend (13-14) Wednesday for a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Al Burns Field. The Bat Cats are 2-12 against the top four teams in the Jayhawk League.
The Bat Cats outhit the Larks 10-7, stranded eight baserunners and hit into an eighth-inning double play.
