Central Plains Middle Schoolers attend State Fair Spelling Bee

BUSHTON — The 17th Annual Kansas State Fair Spelling Bee was held at the Encampment Building on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. Students participating from Central Plains Middle School-Bushton were Natalie Rolfs, Kristi Weeks, Kassidy Nixon, Hannah Ames, Lane Rolfs, Zoe Wimmer, Melissa Donecker and Lauren Oeser. The first part of the competition was a 30-word written exam. While the written exam was being graded the students enjoyed playing Kansas State Fair Trivia. Forty-three 6th-8th grade students competed in the written part of the exam with 25 qualifying for the oral competition. Kassidy, Kristi, Natalie and Lauren qualified for the oral competition ...
