Panther volleyball drops pair

EMPORIA — The Great Bend volleyball team continues to struggle with losses to 6A Emporia 25-16, 25-15 and 2A Hillsboro 25-14, 25-19 Thursday night.
Against Emporia, Alyssa Herter contyributed nine assists. Baylee Beck had eight digs and Sidney Meitner contributed five digs and three kills.
Against Hillbsoro, Jenna Mauler had six assists. Meitner had seven digs and four kills. Sydney Unruh had seven digs and Olivia Urban had five digs.
Great Bend (7-16) travels to Phillipsburg Tuesday to play the Panthers and Smith Center.
The Western Athletic Conference Tournament is scheduled Oct. 14 at Liberal with the Panthers playing Dodge City ...
