Hoisington Debaters take second at Russell

HOISINGTON — The Hoisington High School Debate Team placed second out of ten schools competing at Russell recently. The team had a combined 11-4 win/loss record, just behind first place Dodge City with a 12-3 record. Hays was third with a 10-5 record.
In the varsity division, HHS debaters Taylor Schwartz and Garrett Dykes placed second with a 4-1 record. They defeated teams from Dodge City, Garden City, Ellinwood, and Hays. They lost to another Dodge City team.
In the novice division, Logan Hammeke and Kylie Miller placed third with a 4-1 record. They actually tied for second, but lost ...
