Great Bend 8th-graders open basketball season

The Great Bend Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team opened their home season Jan. 11 with a 38-24 loss against Dodge City Comanche Middle School.
“For the first game out, we played very hard and with a lot of enthusiasm,” said Great Bend coach Dale Kuhlman. “The boys are getting use to my style of coaching. We are starting to gel as a team.”
The Panthers’ A-team had a balanced scoring attack, with Joseph Moeder and Paco Hernandez both contributing five points each. Gavin Haberman and Bradley Beck each scored four points.
