The Book Nook

One-on-one tech time available

POSTED March 7, 2018 6:44 p.m.

Greetings from your Great Bend Public Library.
We hope you have been enjoying this warm weather like we have (even with our blustery Kansas wind). We wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who participated in our Blanket and Coat drive that we had for the Life Giving Center. We had so many donations since we started we ended up needing to make a couple of drop-offs before the event had even finished. Thank you for helping and caring so much about our community, it is dear to our hearts as well.
There have been a few changes in the works as we are coming up with new programs and classes for all of you. Crochet Class is no longer lead by a Staff member. It is now more of a group crochet session. A teacher is available for lessons, but we do request that you make a reservation for a one on one session or register for the group time.
Our lovely 3D printer and Tinkercad classes will finish out class times this month but then we will move to a similar one on one program that allows you to sit down with a librarian at a more convenient time for you.
If you didn’t know we do have One-on-One Tech Hour available as well. If you have a device that you are having trouble with we have several staff members that can sit down with you and your device to help you out. You can set up a time with a librarian for either Crochet, 3D Printer basics, or Tech Hour by visiting us online at or call us at (620) 792-2409. All of these will be limited to a one hour session.
Next week on Monday, March 12, we have Innovation Station in the Children’s Department at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m. the Crochet Group will be meeting in our Main Conference room upstairs.
Tuesday, March 13, bring Baby Bounce Storytime at 9:30 a.m. This is followed by Toddler Storytime at 10:30 a.m.
There is nothing scheduled for Wednesday, March 14. (This would probably be a good day to schedule a one on one session.)
Thursday, March 15, we have Crochet Group at 3 p.m. in the Upstairs Main Conference Room. At 4 p.m. there is a Teen Spa Day. If you have been stressed out over classes and extra curriculars, come in and treat yourself to some relaxation.
Friday, March 16, we have Pre-school Storytime at 10:30 a.m. At 3:30 p.m. we have a Tinkercad 3D Design Class in the Downstairs Dane G. Hansen Media Center.
