More information released about Tuesday injury accident

Crash in Barton County left one injured and was sent to Great Bend Regional Hospital and later flown to a Wichita area hospital for his injuries.

Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an accident at 3:45 p.m. on Monday at North Washington and Northwest 30 Road in which one person was injured, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.

According to a news release, investigation at the scene indicated a 2000 Ford Ranger operated by Francis Haberman, 91, of Great Bend was southbound on Washington Street. A 2004 International trash truck operated by Michael Furrey was westbound on Northwest 30 Road. Witnesses at the scene said the International truck stopped at the stop sign for westbound traffic and then pulled into the path ...
