April to raise awareness on sex assaults

Barton County Commissioners have joined with other officials in choosing April as a time to help raise awareness about the plight of sexual abuse.
Commissioners approved a proclamation designating the state as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and they were told that there are special programs planned for the month.
Family Crisis Center Director Laura Patzner told the commissioners that there will be a second annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event planned for the downtown courthouse square from 1-4 p.m. on April 30.
