Corbin Dean Edmisson 1988 - 2011

STILLWATER, Okla. — Corbin Dean Edmisson, 22, died April 16 in Stillwater, Okla. Born April 23, 1988, in Hutchinson, he was the son of Robert Dean and Gina Jo (Gagnebin) Edmisson.

Corbin was a 2006 graduate of Stillwater High School, and earned a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Oklahoma City University. He was a member of the OCU men’s basketball team that won the 2007 National Championship. He was passionate about basketball, his friends, OSU football, and OKC Thunder basketball. Corbin was recently hired as the video coordinator at Tulsa University, for the women’s basketball program. He was so exited, and he hoped it was the first step to living his dream of becoming a basketball coach. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many, many friends.

Survivors include his sister, Cierra Jo Edmisson of Stillwater, Okla.; grandparents, Russell and Shirley Gagnebin of Abbyville, Dean and Sherra Brigman of Hutchinson, and Bud and Jo Edmisson of Blackwell, Okla.; great-grandparents, Robert and Beulah Edmisson of Johnson; aunts and uncles, Vicki (Gagnebin) and Theron Barton, and Brandon Gagnebin, all of Shawnee, and Greg and Julie Edmisson of Johnson; and cousins, Peyton and Presley Barton of Shawnee, and Cole and Alex Edmisson of Johnson. He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Lawrence and Emmaline Lambert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Bible Church, 1221 E. 33rd St. in Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Corbin Dean Edmisson Basketball Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Proceeds will be used to send underprivileged kids to the Kevin Durant Basketball camp this summer. Condolences may be left at
