Harry S. Witterstaetter, III 1933 - 2011

HOISINGTON — Harry S. Witterstaetter, III, 78, died May 27 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 17, 1933 at Texarkana, Texas, the son of Harry S. and Hollis (Kegley) Witterstaetter, Jr.

He married Wilma J. Joyce June 5, 1951 at Texarkana, Texas. He worked as a wallpaper hanger Mr. Witterstaetter was a Hoisington resident since 1951 coming from Texarkana.

He served in the U.S. Marines Reserves. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Heritage Club, both of Hoisington. He was a ten year running state bare bow champion, and he loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include wife Wilma J. Witterstaetter, of the home; daughter, Teresa Hutter of Mustang, Okla.; two sisters, Emma Louise Mote of Atlanta, Texas and Nancy Holloman of Texarkana, Texas; two grandchildren, Trina Hutter and Troy Hutter; three great grandchildren, Chance Hutter, Zachery Hutter, and Lance Hutter. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Witterstaetter.

The funeral service will at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Rev. Kris Brinlee and Pastor Josh Foster officiating. Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
