Accident in Ellsworth County kills 1, injures 10


ELLSWORTH (AP) — One person died and 10 were injured in a Memorial Day accident in central Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident occurred late Sunday night on Interstate 70 about 13 miles northeast of Ellsworth.

Twelve people, mostly from Mexico, were in the car. The patrol says the driver, Enry Morales, lost control and the vehicle rolled into the center median. None of the people in the car wore seat belts, and several were thrown from the car. Morales was not injured.

Seventeen-year-old Cleodove Guzman-Rosario died in the accident. Ten other passengers were taken to hospitals in Salina ...
