Russell transfers to SMU

DALLAS (AP) — Former Kansas State guard Nick Russell is headed to Southern Methodist University. On Tuesday, SMU head coach Matt Doherty said Russell will join the Mustangs this fall.
The former Duncanville, Texas (Grace Preparatory Academy), standout spent two years at K-State, but saw limited playing time this past season.
A 6-foot-4, 200-pound guard, Russell averaged 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds this past season. In May, he announced he
Russell averaged12.2 minutes per game while appearing in 25 and starting 14 of K-State’s 34 games.
