Panthers trip Manhattan

The Great Bend High School boys’ soccer team edged Manhattan 2-1 on Saturday at Cavanaugh Field.
The Panthers advance to 7-1 overall.
“I’ve been here for five years, and we’ve never done this,” GBHS head coach Gus Prieto said. “The team is playing really well right now.”
GBHS scored first, 10 minutes into the first half.
Noel Rodriguez beat the Manhattan goalkeeper on a penalty kick, which was given to the Panthers after a defender fouled Jose Morales inside the penalty box.
Manhattan tied the game 10 minutes later, leaving the score 1-1 at the half.
