State event highlights county strengths

As Dorothy Gale learned by the end of the 1939 motion picture classic, “The Wizard of Oz,” there’s no place like home.
And county officials learned the same thing when they traveled, not to Emerald City, but to Topeka last week for the annual Kansas Association of Counties meeting.
County Commissioner Homer Kruckenberg observed there’s nothing like getting together with other county officials to realize how many things are being done correctly here at home.
Kruckenberg noted that, “we’re pretty fortunate to have a county counselor and finance officer.”
