FOUNTAN HILLS, Ariz. — Born March 18, 1932, Robert Allen Peterson left this world Dec. 6, but forever remains in our hearts.

While in Kansas he excelled at most everything he did, from insurance to residential and commercial real estate (including developing Quail Creek), fatherhood and more. This was a man who taught himself to draw house plans before launching a construction company with his father during the Kansas oil boom.

He was the consummate builder and a creative visionary – a unique combination that would become a recurring theme and leave a legacy of progress that he demonstrated from the time he was a small boy to his final days.

His unique skills and entrepreneurial vision told him to head the family west to Colorado, where he ran his own general contracting firm for many years before retiring from USAA Insurance Company. Calling Arizona home for the past 12 years, Bob enjoyed the desert climate while restoring his antique cars.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; devoted wife of 56 years; and beautiful granddaughter Kalyn Peterson; as well as Lyle Richardson and Donald Richardson of Elinwood. He is survived by his six children; six grandchildren; sister-in-law Bobbie Richardson; and niece Marcia Berchek.

May he find peace, warmth and the completeness of being reunited with Kay – the love of his life, mother of his children and partner forever.

Services were held at Messinger Mortuary in Fountain Hills.
