Brian was born Saturday, Sept. 20, 1952 in Ellsworth, the son of Alvin and Mary (Frost) Klusener.
He grew up on farms near Lucas, and graduated from high school in Wakefield. He met his wife of 34 years, Laura (Lee), at the guest registry while attending church in Lawrence. They were married Nov. 25, 1977.

He moved to Pittsburg with his family in 2003 when Laura, an occupational therapist, began working at Via Christi Hospital. In 2006, he completed a life-long goal of finishing college, earning a bachelor’s degree in business from Friends University. He worked as a delivery driver for Senior Services in Pittsburg, and called the friends he made on his routes “my people.” He was very active in St. John Lutheran Church.
