GREAT BEND — Esther E. Jenkins, 83, died Jan. 15, 2012 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born June 17, 1928 at rural Otis, the daughter of Jesse Thomas and Amelia (Schlegel) Queen. She married Bill Franklin Jenkins Nov. 25, 1945 at Hoisington. He died June 19, 1983. She worked in food preparation for the USD 428 Central Kitchen and as a nurse’s aide. Mrs. Jenkins was a lifetime Barton County resident. ...
