USD 112 Board of Education meets

CLAFLIN — For school board appreciation month, Superintendent Steve Woolf thanked the board for their time and effort, and a job well done at their recent meeting.

The board approved the purchase of infant simulators for the Family and Consumer Science class. Teacher Susan Patterson gave a presentation on the problem on teen pregnancy and the resulting poverty levels, child abuse, and medical challenges.

In her presentation, she reported three in 10 girls will be pregnant once before age 20 and that only 38 percent will receive a high school diploma.
