High school football players from St. John, Ellinwood, Macksville, Central Plains and Hoisington signed letters of intent to play at the next level on Wednesday, the national signing day.

St. John’s starting running back and middle linebacker, Pat Prescott, signed to play for Dodge City Community College.
Prescott, a 5-foot-9, 172-pound bruiser, rushed for 2,276 yards during his four-year high school career, including 1,288 yards in his senior campaign.
Prescott scored 23 touchdowns in the 2011 season.
