ELLINWOOD — Virginia L. Pangburn Bayer, 79, died Oct. 17 at Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. Born Sept. 3, 1931, in Lyons, she was the daughter of Virgil L. Pangburn and Vera P. Misner. She graduated from Sterling College. A lifetime Rice county resident, she was a farm wife, secretary at Conoco Oil Company of Lyons, a former Rice County probate judge and an amateur anthropologist.
