Indians, Cardinals split twinbill

LARNED — The Larned High School and Hoisington baseball teams split a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Game 1 went into the eighth inning with the Cardinals prevailing 7-6. The Indians stepped up their offense in the second game to win 11-4.
Larned head coach Chad Erway said that it was his defense that made the diference in the second game.
“The second game, we had a young freshman pitcher on the mound, Trey Kraisinger,” Erway said. “He kept the ball close to the plate, and we were getting a lot of groundball and flyball outs.
