RUSSELL — Herman J. Hammerschmidt, 98, of Russell, died Oct. 25 at Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. Herman was born on June 23, 1912, in Walker, the son of Jacob and Anna (Geist) Hammerschmidt. He grew up and attended public schools in Walker and lived all his life in the Walker, Victoria and Russell areas. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Teckla Sander on June 1, 1937, ...
