County office activities outlined

Once a month, Barton County Administrator Richard Boeckman presents a service update to the County Commission. The report outlines activities by various county offices. Below are some of the statistics from the update delivered Monday morning.
• In April, the Barton County Records Management Department had 212 visitors call, write, e-mail or walk in from Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas, Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota and Oklahoma.There were 324 requests for Birth Records, Marriage Licenses, Death and Cemetery Records, Naturalization Papers, State Tax, Probates, Criminal, Limited, Traffic, Civil and Domestic.
• The Barton County Clerk’s Office sold five fur harvester licenses, eight combination hunting/fishing licenses, two hunting licenses, two trout permits, four three-pole permits, 57 annual vehicle permits, 42 senior annual vehicle permits, six disabled annual vehicle permits, one annual camp permit, seven 14-night camping permits, five fishing licenses, one float-line fishing permit, 14 annual camping permits, seven spring turkey permits and and spring turkey game tag for a total of $5,442.20 to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for the reporting period Dec. 28, 2011, to May 7, 2012.
• The Barton County Jail saw 61 males booked and 65 released in the last month. Ten were transported for a total of 1,766 miles taking 31 hours. There were 28 females booked, 26 released and four transported for a total of 216 miles taking six hours. There were five juveniles booked, five released, seven transported for a total of 1,849 miles taking 32 and a half hours.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office trustees have worked a total of 535 hours for county, city and non-profit organizations.
BCSO road patrols responded to 215 calls. There were also 227 civil process documents served.
• The Barton County Health Department reported 269 clinic contacts. Those include: Family planning, 84; immunizations, 79; maternal and infant, 14; sexually transmitted disease, 25; TB, 36; Health Start, 10; and child care licensing inspections, 11.
