Claflin man injured

A Claflin man was taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington Wednesday evening after the truck he was driving went into a ditch in the 1800 block of Susank Road.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports James Burch, 22, was driving a Ford F-350 pulling a trailer loaded with oilfield pipe when he lost control of the vehicle at 7:19 p.m. Burch had to be extracted from the truck because the pipe came off the trailer and crushed the cab, pinning him inside.
