A Russell man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Sunday after hitting a deer with a motorcycle in Barton County, about nine miles northwest of Hoisington on U.S. 281. Kansas Highway Patrol reports R. Leon Huxman, 54, was northbound at 8:25 p.m. when the 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with the deer in the roadway.
