The Kansas Highway Patrol investigated an accident about 5:32 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. 56 and K-156. The patrol reports that a GMC 1500 pick-up operated by Tanner Cain, 20, of Beaver, Okla. had stopped at a stop sign before driving onto U.S. 56 into the path of a westbound Mack semi-tractor operated by Brian Wick, 39, of Ness City. Cain was injured and transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital. Wick was not injured. Traffic was diverted at the intersection.
