Panthers JV, freshmen struggle in losses

While it got two touchdowns in the second half, the Great Bend High School junior varsity football team couldn’t dig itself out on Monday evening.
The Panthers fell to visiting Dodge City 23-12 at Memorial Stadium.
After falling into a 13-0 hole by halftime, the Panthers got a score from Trent Uselton on a 30-yard scamper.
Quarterback Shade Wondra scored on a 5-yard plunge across the goal line.
Great Bend JV falls to 3-2 on the season.
According to JV head coach Kelly Brack, the home matchup against Liberal next Monday has been cancelled, as the Redskins don’t have enough players.
The freshmen game is still scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Great Bend freshmen trailed 32-0 at halftime, and they were unable to rally late at home.
Freshman quarterback Trey Ibarra connected with Quinton Elliott for a 5-yard TD in the second half.
Running back Ramses Lopez punched in a 1-yard score.
The freshmen drop to 0-5 overall.
