Shafer Gallery open again

Quilting enthusiast Maggie Gerstenkorn of Great Bend admires the finite details of a quilt titled “Fibonacci Nebula” during the Shafer Art Gallery’s grand reopening Sunday afternoon, which featured works of art from the National Quilt Museum Exhibit.

The Shafer Art Gallery at Barton Community College officially reopened Sunday from a lengthy construction project, with a reception for its annual National Quilt Museum Exhibit. The program also featured area woodcarvers and roots music by Wayne and Arthetta Long.
