Catherine Rose Hazen, 86, of Great Bend passed away at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover on Nov. 24 after a brief illness. Born on Jan. 31, 1926 in Ellsworth, she was the daughter of Henry Rudolph and Martha Lena (Herber) Nienke. She was united in marriage to Bernard “Buck” George Hazen on Aug. 16, 1944 at his parents’ home in Erie. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2008. To this union two ...
