HAYS — LaVerne D. Stieben, 61, of Hays died Nov. 25, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. LaVerne was born Jan. 25, 1951, in Great Bend, the son of William and Emma (Schwien) Stieben. He was a graduate of Pittsburg State University. He married Dorothy Koerner May 24, 1974, in Ness City. He was a partner in Bieker Insurance for many years.
