Deer-vehicle accidents reported

Kansas Highway Patrol responded to three vehicle-deer crashes Saturday in Barton County. One occurred in the morning near the grain elevator at Hitschmann, one was in the evening on West U.S. 56 at SW 70 Ave. and the third was at 9:43 p.m., about a half-mile south of the TV tower on U.S. 281.

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office worked two deer-vehicle accidents on Sunday. A vehicle coming to Great Bend from Ellsworth around 8:13 p.m. Sunday on K-156 hit a deer about 10 miles outside of Great Bend, sustaining ...
