DIGHTON — Gene W. Boomhower, 79, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. Born March 15, 1933, in Hoisington, he was the son of J.E. “Toots” and Amalia (Boxberger) Boomhower. Gene graduated from Hoisington High School with the Class of 1951. On March 23, 1952, he married Marlene Susank in Hoisington. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
