Montoya wins Elllinwood's first individual state crown in 22 years

WICHITA — Ellinwood High School’s Pedro Montoya made Friday’s portion of the Class 6-1A state track and field championships a memorable one.
Montoya broke his own school record and won the Eagles’ first individual state track title in 22 years, turning in a time of 9:30.98 in the 3,200-meter run at Cessna Stadium on the Wichita State University campus.
