Panthers’ Brack takes home silver in shot

WICHITA — Jayce Brack snuck in at second place in the shot put on Saturday at the Class 6-1A state track and field championships.
In 5A competition at Cessna Stadium, the Great Bend High School sophomore thrower recorded a personal-best throw of 55 feet, 1 1/4 inches. Cade Sharp of Hays become a three-time champion, winning the event at 57-3 1/2.
Third-place went to Da’Quan Blake of Leavenworth (55-1).
