False phone call received by Hoisington resident

HOISINGTON — An individual in Hoisington recently received a phone call from a man saying that he worked for the Code Enforcement Officer in Hoisington. This call was an attempt to scam that individual.
The resident was told they had better pay $300 for yard mowing or the city was going to come after them.
The city of Hoisington follows far different procedures for lawn mowing.
“The city tends to send letters to give notice,” said City Manager Jonathan Mitchell. “Occasionally, the Code Enforcement Officer (Don Doerschlag) will visit with you personally.
