Offensive woes hurt Chiefs in road losses

DODGE CITY — Offensive issues led to 12-0 and 2-1 losses for the Great Bend Chiefs in a Class AAA American Legion doubleheader against Dodge City on Tuesday night.
The Chiefs managed five hits — all singles — in the two games as they dropped to 6-24 on the season.
“What it comes down to is being able to close out games,” Chiefs head coach Michael Stettinger said. “We just weren’t able to score runs when we need to score runs.”
