Flood-damaged bridge now closed

A whole can be seen in the deck of a bridge in east central Barton County. The bridge, which is closed pending repairs, was damaged in the August flooding.

 Bridge work kept the Barton Count Road and Bridge Department busy recently it was reported to the County Commission Monday morning.
In his update to the commission, Road and Bridge Director Dale Phillips said crews were called on Saturday, Oct. 5, to a bridge collapse in east central Barton County. Located on Northeast 80 Road between Northeast 150 and 160 avenues, the bridge and road are now barricaded pending repair.
