​James L. “Jim” Weathers 1930 - 2013

James L. “Jim” Weathers, 83, passed away on Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, at his home. Born on Feb. 22, 1930, in rural Barton County, he was the son of Roscoe and Mabel Mae (Denbo) Weathers. He was reared on the family farm and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Guam. On June 10, 1956, he was united in marriage to M. Elaine Bauer in Larned. He farmed southwest of Great Bend nearly all of his life, until very recently when ill health prevented him from working.
