Bwalya leads Lady Cards at state tourney

Class 3-1A State Tennis

PRATT — Hoisington High School’s Besa Bwalya placed fifth in the singles competiton of the Class 3-1A state tennis tournament on Sunday.
She went 4-1 to lead the Lady Cardinals, who finished tied for seventh place as a team with Ellinwood.
Deiah Curtis went 0-2 for Hoisington.
Central Plains finished in sixth place as a team, with both doubles teams finishing in the top 12.
Karli Beck and Breanna Schartz claimed eighth place, going 2-3 at the tournament for the Lady Oilers.
Keeley Hipp and Janae Ryan went 2-3 as well, taking 11th place.
