Kansas State Fair considering date change to Labor Day weekend

The Kansas State Fair is considering a date change to include the Labor Day weekend and is conducting a survey. The event would continue for 10 days per normal.
“The festivities that take place in Hoisington on Labor Day weekend have a tremendous economic impact on Barton County as a whole,” said Jonathan Mitchell, Hoisington city manager. “It is difficult to support an effort that may have a detrimental impact on the Barton County area.”
