HOLYROOD — LaVerne Amber Yager, “Cuddy” to her friends, died on Jan. 17, in Lakewood, Colo. after living a rich and full life for over a century. The daughter of Charles and Lydia Hammon Waymire, LaVerne was born on Sept. 18, 1912 on a Kaw Indian farm near Kaw City, Okla. She attended a one room school taught by her sister Opal, graduated from Kaw City High School and then furthered her education at Hills Business College in Oklahoma City, Okla. She married Otis E. Yager July 6, 1933 in Kaw City, Okla. during the depths of the Great Depression and ...
