Ellinwood to host rocket launch

ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Municipal Airport will be host to a rocket launch with the Kansas Organization for SpaceModeling on March 8 with a backup date of March 22. For about 15 years, those who like to launch model rockets come from throughout the state and even from out-of-state to launch rockets
“It’s pretty amazing,” said Robert Peter, Ellinwood City Administrator, at the regular city council meeting last week. The rockets travel as far as 10,000 feet.
In other business, representatives from the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce were present to talk about the upcoming After Harvest Festival.
