Winter weather may start Friday

National Weather Service, Wichita Winter weather is forecast to roll into central Kansas late Thursday night into Friday morning. A second weather system will affect central Kansas Saturday night into Sunday afternoon.

WICHITA — Two weather systems are expected to impact south central Kansas Friday through Sunday.
The first weather system will bring a chance of a light freezing rain and sleet late Thursday into Friday morning.
A thin glazing of ice is possible on untreated surfaces. The next, stronger weather system is expected to impact the area Saturday night through Sunday night.
Saturday’s system will produce snow, sleet and freezing rain across the area, with snow more likely in central Kansas, and freezing rain more likely in the southeast.
