Intersection improvements underway

Kansas Gas Service crews work to reroute a gas line at 24th and Main streets Wednesday morning. The work is part of the preparation for renovations to the intersection.

Weather permitting, work on the intersection of 24th and Main in Great Bend should begin this week, City Engineer Rob Winiecke said.
 Bryant and Bryant Construction Inc. of Halstead is in the process of mobilizing and taking delivery of materials for the project, he said.  Depending upon weather, the company expects traffic control and project staking (surveying) will begin this week with work commencing on the storm drain at the northeast corner of the intersection.
