Holyrood man dies in Friday collision

HOLYROOD — A Holyrood man died Friday morning as the result of a vehicular collision on K-156 and 5th Road in Ellsworth County, half a mile east of Holyrood. James L. Thach, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 7:50 a.m. when Thach, who was driving south on 5th Road, failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled in front of a westbound Freightliner semitrailer on K-156 driven by Brian S.
