Chase County is defending Class 2-1A softball champ

State softball pairings announced

Pairings have been announced for the Class 2-1A State Softball Championship at Great Bend’s Sports Complex May 29-30.
First-round games match defending state champion Chase County 23-0 against Oswego 15-8; Udall 20-3 against Yates Center 19-4; Ell Saline 23-0 versus Spearville 16-7 and Hillsboro 21-2 against McLouth 17-2.
Chase County has captured the last two titles, beating Udall 2-0 in last year’s championship game. Udall won state titles in 2011 and 2006. Hillsboro captured the Class 3A state title in 2012.
Other state champions returning to defend their titles are Class 6A Olathe East, Class 5A Wichita Carroll ...
