Library holds huge food fight

The spaghetti was flying — as was the ketchup, mustard, whipped cream and Hawaiian Punch — Friday afternoon on the lawn of the Great Bend Public Library.
Twenty-five teens had earned the right to take part in the second annual Food Fight, although only three students actually showed up. That made for a fairly even match, with Young Adult Librarian Jennifer King and her summer assistant Haylee Blake joining the melee. Maybe it was the 100-degree weather, or the fact that parents and guardians knew this would be a mega-messy activity. In fact, everyone had to be hosed off afterwards.
